Arc Rehab Chosen for Staff Development Project

The Indiana Institute on Disability and Community, affiliated with Indiana University, has chosen Arc Rehab Services as a partner to develop an internal staff development and mentoring program for community based staff.  There have been four agencies chosen for this project throughout the State of Indiana.

Job Connection, a division of Arc Rehab will be the primary focus of this project.  Job Connection provides people with disabilities assistance to find, get and keep a job in the communtiy.  During the project cycle of the next 18 months, there will be a "Best Practice Assessment" of how we provide services.  With the assistance of IIDC we will  also develop an orientation handbook for new staff that is customized specifically for our agency.  Staff development tools and agency initial orientation techniques will be discussed and implemented as well.

"We had written a proposal and applied to be part of this exciting project and were very happy that we were chosen." says Tim White, Adult Services Director. "We are always looking for ways to provide the best possible services for people with disabilities and part of the way to do that is by providing an excellent training program for staff members."

The Indiana Institute on Disability and Community is located at 2853 E. 10th St. in Bloomington, Indiana.
